Overview
WarSpore · Saga is a fully on-chain Roguelike card game running on the CKB blockchain, inspired by Slay the Spire. It combines PVE, PVP, and UGC modes to build a complete on-chain economic loop. All core game logic is verified on-chain with no centralized server required — a complete on-chain game implementation on CKB.
The game is already deployed on the CKB testnet (https://warspore-saga.xyz/), featuring over 150 card designs, a complete PVE experience, an on-chain NFT asset system based on the Spore/DOB protocol, and an original tokenomics model.
This grant request totals $30,000 USD equivalent in CKB, covering: the wrap-up work for Milestone 1, Milestone 2 (PVP with Fiber integration), initial SAGA token liquidity provisioning, and a bug bounty program.
Background: From 18 Months of Quiet Development to the First Project Funded at Spark’s Highest Tier

Why Now?
CKB possesses highly capable underlying technology — the UTXO model, an off-chain computation / on-chain verification programming paradigm, the Spore/DOB protocol, the Fiber lightning network, the RGB++ protocol, and more. Yet consumer-facing application-layer products within the ecosystem remain scarce, and high-quality projects that can translate technical excellence into compelling market narratives are extremely rare. There is a significant gap between technology and the market, and bridging that gap requires packaging these technologies into projects that can be perceived and recognized by the broader market.
WarSpore · Saga was conceived precisely to convert CKB’s technical advantages into game experiences that players can actually feel, driving real user growth to the ecosystem. Additionally, the game will position itself within the BTC ecosystem by integrating BTC-friendly wallets such as UniSat and OKX, opening a gateway to a much broader BTC user base — fully aligned with CKB’s strategic goal as a BTC Layer 2.

Scope & Milestone Plan
Over the past 18 months of development, a large amount of foundational work has been completed — including the on-chain game engine, VRF randomness, asset contracts, save system, and WASM infrastructure. This groundwork underpins all future milestones, which means development velocity for Milestones 2 and 3 will be significantly higher.

- Introduce a decentralized Relayer service to coordinate the interaction flow within Fiber channels, operable by anyone, ensuring the decentralization of PVP battles
- Outsourced production and optimization of related game UI (included in this milestone’s budget)
- During development, continuously report issues encountered to the Fiber team, advancing the maturity of the Fiber protocol
Ecosystem Significance:
WarSpore · Saga will become the first deck-building game in the Fiber ecosystem, and currently the deepest gamified integration of the Fiber Lightning Network in the CKB ecosystem. The PVP mode will not only validate Fiber’s viability in a gaming context but also serve as a reference implementation for future developers exploring Fiber applications.
Technical Highlight: Leveraging Fiber’s PayToPaymentHash mechanism to lock wagered assets; the winner unlocks the payment by obtaining the loser’s Preimage — maximizing on-chain fair settlement while minimizing off-chain interactions.
Timeline: 3–4 months development + 1 month testing
Milestone 3 · UGC Mode & RGB++ Ecosystem Integration
Deliverables:
- Introduce UGC (User-Generated Content) mode: players can create in-game backstory lore. Using a mechanism similar to “dPOS + longest-chain rule”, the game’s backstory is generated through decentralized collaborative authorship — the community fully decides what story the game ultimately tells
- Combine DOB and RGB++ protocols to store player-created UGC content on the BTC chain via the RGB++ protocol
- Introduce a community proxy voting mechanism for the game token: the highest-voted UGC content will be incorporated into the official game lore, with resulting token rewards distributed proportionally by vote count
- Outsourced production and optimization of related game UI (included in this milestone’s budget)
Ecosystem Significance:
The UGC mode transforms players from content consumers into co-creators, and brings more interesting content-driven application scenarios to the DOB and RGB++ protocols — strengthening the link between the BTC and CKB ecosystems through community participation.
Timeline: Development paused for now. After Milestones 1 and 2 are shipped to mainnet, we will observe market feedback and then decide whether to proceed as a follow-up plan.
Building Initial Liquidity · SAGA/CKB Trading Pair ($10,000 USD)
The game token SAGA can only be earned through PVE mode — players receive token rewards by defeating monsters, with pre-mining and private sales prohibited at the contract level. To ensure market liquidity for SAGA, this budget will be used to establish the initial SAGA/CKB trading pair on UTXOSwap:
- $5,000 USD equivalent in CKB: to purchase SAGA tokens from players (purchase price TBD)
- $5,000 USD equivalent in CKB: as paired funds to inject into the liquidity pool, officially initiating the price discovery mechanism for the SAGA token
This simultaneously provides players with an early instant liquidity channel, incentivizing genuine gameplay behavior, while establishing a transparent price discovery mechanism for SAGA — also indirectly increasing CKB trading activity on UTXOSwap.
Bug Bounty ($2,000 USD)
Establish a public bug reward program, offering CKB rewards to users who discover valid game vulnerabilities or submit constructive gameplay feedback, encouraging community participation in testing and improving game security and stability.

After WarSpore · Saga launches on mainnet, the team will continue to optimize, iterate, and fix potential issues in the codebase.
