Appreciate the time taken to build the platform and for writing this proposal

A few areas where I think further information would be useful:

  • The proposal mentions Neuron and Portal Wallet integrations. The former is not traditionally used with applications and the latter has been shut down. Can you please provide more clarification here?

  • Not much specific information has been provided on the team and past projects. Can you clarify this?

  • The features alluded to (spore and cluster minting, ipfs storage option, customisation options, drops) do exist across a number of platforms. There was a platform that supported custom drops but the name escapes me. Some more details on unique features of this platform would help.

  • Personally I love to see people rolling up their sleeves and building and I believe productivity should be rewarded. Where I think you may get some pushback is the figure of $48k for 6 weeks of development and the 50% upfront amount. Granted, the proposal indicates much of this is for work carried out retrospectively. The questions arise 1) whether significant retrospective funding for development is justified in principle (is there a precedent with Omiga? I would need to review the specifics); and 2) if it is, should what has been created so far be shared with the community for more detailed appraisal?

Hi @SiTa , I wanted to flag a potential issue with the proposal for “50% paid at grant commencement due to advanced development stage”. Under current Rules, initial funding is capped at 20% of the budget (maximum $10,000):

The DAO Funds Management Committee may have a final judgment on this, but I am no longer a member of the Committee. I’m raising this primarily to alert you to possible approval delays or adjustment needs during payment processing.

Thanks for your input! We get the concern about overlap, but Spore Studio isn’t competing with Imagination Marketplace or other Nervos Nation efforts. Instead, we’re building a complementary suite focused on empowering creators. Our platform streamlines minting for single Spore/DOBs and collections, with features like drops and IPFS/on-chain storage, all designed to be intuitive and user-friendly. We’re not planning to integrate marketplace functionality, our goal is to provide robust tools for creators, who can then leverage marketplaces like Imagination to trade their items.

I’m going to have to agree with Crooked on this, though i think stream lining artists for minting process etc… is a nice feature these are my current qualms

1)I personally believe Nervos main focus for now should be geared towards projects that really highlight it’s unique features providing unique functionality and attributes not offered by other chains-- a perfect example is the quantum purse by tea. I think this focus will most effectively drive users to Nervos. Though streamlining artist is nice, it’s not exactly contributing new attributes or functionality-- more so providing ease of use.

  1. there is overlap, i could see this being a feature added on to omiga. I do not think we should be funding the creation of a whole other platform for a particular feature

  2. the price point is much to high-- again the quantum purse was created at a fraction of the cost and its a more unique contribution to CKB as i highlighted earlier. Maybe in the future after Nervos already has a booming ecosystem i could see funding something like this as an addition to Omiga etc but at a lower price point…

Spore Studio does this for digital art by leveraging CKB’s UTXO model and Spore Protocol. Tokenization can extend beyond art, imagine artists issuing tokenized contracts (e.g., for commissions or royalties) directly on Spore Studio, with smart contracts tracking obligations like a P2P loan, burnable upon completion. This bridges CKB’s tech to creators, driving adoption and positioning Nervos as a leader in programmable, secure digital assets. This is the vision, possibilities are endless.

Omiga Overlap: Spore Studio can complement Omiga and any other marketplace. We’re initially targeting artists with tools for DOB creation, collection management, and public drops, not trading. Our features, multi-tier DOB decoding, bulk uploads, and 100% wallet and platform compatibility (JoyID, Omiga, etc.) cater to creators. The platform alone sets a standard for CKB’s art ecosystem.

we know the ask is high and we’ve taken it into consideration, but Spore Studio isn’t being built by one person, there’s an entire s team building and cost for development are high.

I tend to be more prudent in funding projects and i personally don’t think the risk vs reward is there. Whether a team of that size is necessary or not I’m not sure… but the larger the project the more ambitious it is, the more money it needs, more moving parts it has, and the greater the risks for the foundation. Even if it was successful in it’s implementation I’m uncertain on its return. It is a tall ask especially at this price point. Without having a reputations of successful projects built up with Nervos or recommendations from some of our top end developers, for now it’s a no for me

This has been done before with @yixiu.ckbfans.bit 's Joygift, so I don’t think it’s out of the question.

I actually really like the idea because it gives us an almost ready made project to judge and then get an instant result if it gets approved, so I think it should be encouraged.

But yeah, the proposal has to meet the rules like the $10k limit etc.

First I just want to say that I think Telmo and Albert should be encouraged. They’re part of a very small number of non-dev CKB community members who take a shot at getting stuff done.

We desperately need these sort of people who aren’t just talkers and dreamers, but actually have the drive to follow through with their plans, because lets face it, talking to ourselves on Twitter just isn’t and never will do the job, we need doers not talkers.

As far as the project goes though, I’d like to see something more than what is currently proposed.

We need a platform that enables people to be able to launch Nervape style upgradable DOB projects as well as the ability to dress/undress the characters on the platform.

This style of NFT is the way forward imo and if there was a platform that made this accessible then there’s opportunities to go outside the Nervos ecosystem and bring in existing NFT projects or artists with decent followings to launch something on CKB.

I’m not sure what’s involved as far as how much of this technology Nervape has open sourced or if they would be willing to help you out here, but I think this is the path you should be going down.

Hi @Yeti ,thanks for the incredibly valuable feedback. Providing something like what you mentioned is possible, though it’s not currently part of the proposal. We believe the reason it hasn’t been proposed yet is due to the highly complex workflow it involves. Simplifying it for a user interface would require applying numerous restrictions on cluster creation and on the dobs being generated, along with significant preparatory work from the artist and a steep learning curve. Our initial goal is to introduce Dobs in a general sense. In the future, we plan to expand into non-artistic applications, and more complex, programmable dobs could also be part of the roadmap. It’s a matter of determining how to implement it and assessing the resources needed to evaluate its feasibility.

Yeah, I knew this would be complex and is easier said than done but hopefully can be achieved at some point.

I just think basic artwork DOBs/NFTs are a real struggle, there needs to be more.

Will there be a way for projects to launch competitive mints with rarity traits etc?
