What are the most successful ways that your product has gained users?
The majority of our growth has been from search engines, partnerships and word of mouth. With many of our users moving to the Infinity Wallet from platforms such as MetaMask and Trust Wallet, due to the inherent benefits, advancements and overall enhanced user experience we provide.
When will mobile launch?
The mobile release is currently in development. If you follow on socials or sign up at the website you can be notified of its release.
When did you establish the project?
Infinity Wallet was launched early 2020.
Have you raised funding or investments?
No, we are a self funded and free to use decentralized platform.
Grants aside, how does your product make money?
We provide free to use infrastructure & services. This is why we are applying for a grant to help cover the development costs of expanding support for integration of Nervos.
I understand that these new accounts were prompted by Infinity Wallet sending out an email about the proposal to at least 73 people.
To ensure integrity in the process, can one of new registrants forward the email as an attachment to [email protected] so we can verify the DKIM info in the email?
Hi @hao_zhang, we are unsure why you are unhappy with our proposal, however we would appreciate if you would avoid making up defamatory comments. As mentioned above, we are proposing to complete all milestones before receiving the grant amount, so there would be no stealing involved. If you don’t like the proposal however then you are welcome to vote against it.
Biometrics like “face ID & finger scan” can change over time due to a many different reasons that is why a wallet fully dependent only on Biometrics to recover could be dangerous. Unless there is a secondary backup option which then kind of defeats the point of Biometric recovery.
I know passkeys as I have used and was once locked out of accounts after slicing my finger so I temporarily could not gain access. Then there are still issues like if your fingerprint or face changes as it does, you have a accident and etc.
Unless you have multiple alternative methods passkeys are risky, and then there is the fact that nowadays all our biometric data is tracked from governments and companies opening up a potential list of other issues.
Of course you need a backup method in case you lose your phone, and PIN numbers and passwords are still used on phones. The cut finger example is nonsense.
Fingerprint and face ID unlocks or used by for over 90% of smartphone users I’m sure, the thing about data collection is just whataboutism to bolster a bad case
Mnemonic phrases didn’t get mass adoption, I can’t see any reason to advocate for them but… that’s just me
As far as I am aware, you can have the same wallet on multiple devices, so if you lose your phone, you can still access your wallet on your PC or your partners phone for example.
There will also be other backup options, but I’m not sure how they will work at this stage.
But if you have questions, you should ask on the Joyid Discord, Cipher is more than happy to answer anyone’s questions.
