Hey everyone,
I’m not sure if something like this already exists in Nervos, but I came across the idea and thought it was really cool, so I wanted to share it here for discussion.
The basic concept is a Community Idea Board where people in the community can suggest ideas for things that should be built, builders can then apply to build those ideas, the community chooses the builder, and then the builder delivers.
To me, this feels more community-driven than the usual flow. Builders can still absolutely do things the regular way and submit their own proposals, this wouldn’t replace that. It would just add a more community-first path in parallel, where the community helps decide both what should be built and who should build it.
Why I think it’s interesting
A lot of good ideas get lost because they stay as random forum posts. At the same time, builders often don’t have a simple way to see what the community actually wants to see built.
This could create a simple weekly flow:
- People submit ideas.
- The community votes on the best ones.
- The top ideas move forward.
- Builders apply with a concrete proposal.
- The community votes again on the builder.
- The selected builder delivers the work.
What I like about it
What I really like is that it keeps the community involved twice:
- first, when deciding what is worth building;
- second, when deciding who should build it.
That feels a lot more alive than just a normal brainstorming thread.
Important note
I’m not saying this would mean a guaranteed grant or that community voting replaces the normal funding process.
More like: it could be a strong signal of interest, help reduce risk, and make proposals much better prepared before they go into any official funding process.
Questions for the community
A few things I’d love to hear opinions on:
- Would something like this actually be useful for Nervos?
- Should it be limited to 3 ideas per week, or should that be flexible?
- How do we make sure the vote is about quality, not just popularity?
- Should builders need to include portfolio, budget, and milestones?
- Would this be better as a forum process, or as a proper tool/app later?
Curious to hear what people think.
- 第一次,决定什么值得做;
