Hi… I need to transfer my ckb out of Kucoin. I’m in the USA. Which app can I use?
Here are the wallet options
The first link addresses everything about Neuron, which is the most popular wallet for CKB holders who prefer to use their computer.
The following link is for all other 3rd party wallets that are compatible with CKB, and includes all mobile options
note that most wallet options have access to the Nervos DAO, where you can stake your CKB and earn interest from secondary issuance.
Read more about the DAO here
Also you can try JoyID a passkey wallet
When I made my original purchase on Binance in 2022, I was able to transfer everything to the Neuron wallet.
I am also attempting to transfer my CKB from Kucoin, but when I provide the wallet address I get an error:
Note: Withdrawal is only supported to long addresses (95 or 97 characters)
Does anyone know of a workaround for this?
Thank you all and hope you were able to move your CKB from Kucoin.
Hi, if you are using the same Neuron address as last time then it is probably the short address.
Just go to Neuron and click on "Receive’ and it will generate you a new 97 character address. This will still go to the exact same Neuron wallet.
Yes, there is a button for this in explorer.nervos.org. Call up your address and click there to convert the address.
View in deprecated address format
Thank you for your help so far. I turned the address into the deprecated format. Yet, Kucoin now says this is an invalid address. I noticed on Kucoin that the network is listed as: Nervos Network (ckb2)
Although, my wallet address begins with (ckb1)
Does anyone know what this is about or is this the reason for the difficulty withdrawing? Thank you again. Your support here has been amazing so far.
Kucoin has a bit of a history for this.
It doesn’t work with Joyid addresses for example, but it should work with a new Neuron address.
Have you gone to Neuron and generated a new address and then tried that? That will be a 97 character address, but I’ve got no idea what a ckb2 address is.
View in new address format
Surely you are required to use the new address format, not the outdated one? Enter the long address there, not the short one. The long address is new, the short one is old.
Here is an example of what I believe the issue is. You’ll see the beginning part of my Neuron wallet address begins with a ckb1 while Kucoin is requiring the wallet address to begin with ckb2.
Was there a time when Nervos changed their wallet address via some sort of an upgrade? Do I need to someone convert my old wallet address into this new format? Thank you again.
For clarification, the top image is the beginning of my CKB address and the bottom is pulled from the withdraw page on Kucoin. Thanks again!
There’s no such thing as a CKB2 address as far as I know. I think this just must be Kucoin’s way of labeling CKBs newer long address format.
Have you done what I said and generated a new address in Neuron?
UTXO chains can use new addresses all the time, you won’t even notice a difference in your Nueron wallet, it will go to the same account, but I just want to see if this works with Kucoin.
Yes, I believe I have tried what you instructed about the new address. What I’ve tried so far:
My original address provided by my Neuron wallet is a 97 character count address so it fits the Kucoin address criteria.
On explorer.nervos I converted that to the shorter deprecated address, but that is an invalid address and not what kucoin is looking for.
When showing the deprecated address, I click the option to show the new address. This new address is the same as the original Neuron address provided by my wallet.
I’ve been working with crypto/wallets for years now. This is the most confused I’ve been in a while. Thank you all again for your time and ideas.
To provide an example of what my current address resembles:
Mine resembles the “full address generated” section. Is there something else I’m missing? Thank you.
Update:
I was able to move my CKB from Kucoin to my Neuron wallet and I’ve no idea how lol. On Kucoin, it shows my previous wallet address that I used to transfer my CKB from a couple years ago. I simply copied that address, which is the exact same address I’ve been working with, and pasted that into the destination address.
I don’t believe this is truly what made a difference. I suspect an issue on Kucoin’s end. Yet, everything worked out. Thank you all again for your time. It’s greatly appreciated.
Ok good news! Your not the first person to have issue with Kucoin, they really need to sort out whatever it is that’s going on.
