Hi, community
I’ve been experimenting with vibe coding using Kimi + Codex, and ended up building a small macOS desktop widget called TalkPulse.
The idea is simple: keep recent community forum topics, watch keywords, and fresh activity visible on the desktop, so you don’t have to keep the forum open all day. You can glance at it, see what’s new, and click straight into the discussion.
This is not meant to be a serious polished product. It’s more of a small experimental tool for people to play with, fork, modify, or critique.
One interesting takeaway from the process: Kimi’s review ability is surprisingly strong. It caught a lot of UI/UX issues and subtle logic problems that are easy to miss. But it can also be overly aggressive. Sometimes it flags intentional design tradeoffs as problems, so human judgment is still needed to decide what is actually a bug, what is a tradeoff, and what is just taste.
Anyway, this was a fun AI-assisted build. Feel free to try it & suggest improvements.
