UPDATE: I believe I have the issue resolved now. See my response to matt_ckb further below. Thank you to everyone who reached out to provide further support.
Original post:
My CKB wallet was originally setup using ckb.pw via Ledger/Metamask/Ethereum bridge. But since ckb.pw was removed, I have to find a different way to transact. Neuron wallet doesn’t work for me because it pulls down a Ledger address via the Ledger Nervos app, so my CKB isn’t on there - even after syncing to 100%.
I was able to send 2k CKB to my exchange today using mobit.app via the same Ledger/Metamask I set up a few years ago. You have to click on “Profile” at the top of the page to see the “send” button; something that didn’t occur to me but that another helpful Redditor pointed out to me. But the plot thickens:
My entire CKB balance and entire TX history was moved to a different CKB address through no actions of mine. My private keys now control this new address (instead of my original address), and that is how I was able to send 2k CKB to my exchange today. But the blockchain sent 1,226 CKB back to my original CKB address within the same transaction - on it’s own accord, not by any request from me! Note that the address that my keys control is no longer the original one but the one that leaked my 1,226 CKB from the new address I now control back to that original address. Confusing enough? That’s what happened! This blockchain has multiple, horrific bugs! It’s unbelievable! How am I supposed to access my CKB now???

it is regrettable to hear of your confusion and I can understand your distress
situation: you had 3,226 CKB in a UTXO locked to your ckb.pw address
you used Mobit to access those CKB, the Mobit wallet constructed a transaction that seemingly sent 2,000 CKB to the exchange and 1,226 to the address from the original UTXO. UTXO’s are different from accounts, you can learn more in this article UTXO vs. Account-Based Blockchains - Benefits and Drawbacks
You signed that transaction
You should be able to access the CKB by repeating the same process you started with? Is there a problem doing that?

Now that I have done a couple more transfers to my exchange, I think you nailed exactly what’s been happening. I feel like a bit of an idiot - which is a massive relief and exactly the outcome I was hoping for. I originally thought that coins were being leaked from my wallet and that my funds had been mysteriously moved from my original wallet to another that I didn’t control, but in reality, the funds seem to have moved in a way consistent with the UTXO paradigm. I’ve used other UTXO blockchains before, but somehow, the way that this one moved my funds around confused and alarmed me. When I add the two wallets that my funds seem to keep shifting in between, the sum of them remains correct net of the amount I sent off to my exchange all three times. I think I’m all set with using mobit.app along with my original Ledger/Metamask wallet. Hopefully, they don’t get rid of that one like they did ckb.pw! Thank you for your help.
no worries! UTXO’s are great from a technical perspective but have some challenges for users.
Glad we got it sorted out!
