The Spark Program is committed to supporting community developers and innovative projects. We always manage every grant with transparency, fairness, and responsibility. After careful evaluation by the committee, we regret to announce that the funding for the AirFi project has been officially terminated.

终止决定及原因 / Termination Decision and Reasons

星火计划委员会在项目跟踪过程中发现，该项目当前开发方向已显著偏离原申请时承诺的核心目标和价值主张。具体表现为：
During the project tracking process, the Spark Program committee discovered that the current development direction of the project has significantly deviated from the core goals and value propositions promised in the original application. Specifically:

  1. 项目团队当前努力的方向与原提案的设计理念和技术路径发生重大偏差，已构成“大幅调整”甚至“完全改变方向”的情况。
    The current direction of the project team’s efforts has undergone major deviations from the design philosophy and technical path of the original proposal, constituting a “major adjustment” or even “complete change of direction.”

  2. 委员会在周同步会中提出回归原方向的建设性建议，但始终未能得到项目团队的积极回应。
    The committee proposed constructive suggestions to return to the original direction during weekly sync meetings, but failed to receive positive responses from the project team.

具体情况梳理 / The specific situation

问题最初被发现时，是委员会在评审AirFi项目申请人为申请第二笔资助而发布的演示视频和沟通措辞中，未能看到直接联通Guest端和Host端的支付通道。
The issue was first identified when the committee reviewed the demo videos and communication wording released by the AirFi project applicant for applying for the second grant, where no direct payment channel connecting the Guest end and Host end was observed.

    To avoid misunderstandings from unilateral judgments, the committee confirmed four questions related to the project with the proposal applicant:

    1. JoyID 不支持 Perun 通道。你是如何建立该通道的？请描述具体的实现方法和技术细节。
      JoyID does not support the Perun channel. How did you establish the channel? Please describe the specific implementation method and technical details.

    2. 该通道是与谁建立的？资金流向如何？请提供相关的交易记录或证明（例如交易哈希）。
      With whom was the channel established? Where did the funds flow? Please provide relevant transaction records or proof (e.g., transaction hash).

    3. 通道建立后，在使用期间如何处理计费与支付？（例如，是按签名计费，还是通过集中式系统控制？）请描述支付流程和安全机制。
      Once the channel is established, how are pricing and payments handled during its use? (For example, is it per signature or controlled through a centralized system?) Please describe the payment process and security mechanisms.

    4. 关闭通道时，资金如何返还？请描述退款流程，包括所涉及的任何智能合约或机制。
      When closing a channel, how are funds returned? Please describe the refund process, including any smart contracts or mechanisms involved.

委员会所提问题的关注点在于JoyID与Perun支付通道不兼容，AirFi团队如何解决这个问题，实现Geust与Host之间真实的通道。
The committee’s questions focused on the incompatibility between JoyID and Perun payment channels, and how the AirFi team resolved this to achieve a real channel between Guest and Host.

    资金流转如下：首先，用户将 CKB 发送到临时钱包地址。我们的后端监控区块链并在检测到付款到达时进行处理。此时，我们还会从交易输入中识别出发送方的原始地址——这对于以后退款非常重要。一旦检测到资金充足，后端就会打开一个 Perun 通道。来宾的出资会进入该通道（扣除用于通道设置成本的预留），主机也会额外加入 100 CKB。该通道现在在 CKB 测试网上激活。
    The fund flow goes like this: First, the user sends CKB to the temporary wallet address. Our backend monitors the blockchain and detects when the payment arrives. At this point, we also identify the sender’s original address from the transaction inputs - this is important for refunds later Once we detect sufficient funding, the backend opens a Perun channel. The guest’s contribution goes into the channel (minus a reserve for channel setup costs), and the host adds 100 CKB as well. The channel is now active on CKB Testnet

At the same time, the applicant did not directly adopt Hanssen’s suggestion, proposing to retain the current approach and then supplement with a “hybrid mode.”

    • 委员会成员Hanssen主要表达了对当前设计和实现的不认同，认为当前AirFi项目实现的并不是真实的支付通道，它的存在没有意义，同时言简意赅地反对了”有限风险“的逻辑和存在。并且声明这种方式并未在AirFi立项时获得正式批准.
      Committee member Hanssen mainly expressed disagreement with the current design and implementation, believing that what the current AirFi project implemented is not a real payment channel, and its existence is meaningless. He also concisely opposed the logic and existence of “limited risk.” Furthermore, he stated that this method was not formally approved at the time of AirFi’s approval.

    • AirFi项目申请人 Emmanuel 随后发表了反驳，认为 Hanssen 的建议会破坏用户体验，坚持自己当前的方向是”通过Perun框架实现了可用的‘打开、支付和结算’周期”，并且是在立项时被委员会批准的。

According to the relevant provisions of“3.3 Completion Policy” in the “Spark Program: Mini-Grant Initiative”:

  • 在以下情况下，Spark Program Committee将会终止项目并停止剩余资金发放：
    In the following cases, the Spark Program Committee will terminate the project and stop the disbursement of remaining funds:

    • 连续较长时间（2周）无实质性进展且无合理原因
      No substantial progress for a prolonged period (2 weeks) without reasonable cause

    • 项目方向完全偏离原申请目标 / 资金使用严重偏离项目计划，且未经Committee批准
      The project direction completely deviates from the original application goals / Fund usage seriously deviates from the project plan, and without Committee approval

    • 发现存在材料造假等诚信问题
      Discovery of material fabrication or other integrity issues

委员会认为，AirFi项目申请人 Emmanuel 确实是非常认真地想要把AirFi项目做成一个成熟且易用的产品，但对于“损害用户资产控制权的权衡之计”的反对态度在委员会中是有全面且绝对的共识的。
The committee believes that AirFi project applicant Emmanuel is indeed very serious about making AirFi into a mature and easy-to-use product, but there is a comprehensive and absolute consensus in the committee against the “trade-off that harms user asset control.”

鉴于申请人 Emmanuel 始终不能与委员会取得共识，因此委员会认为继续资助已无法有效保障原定生态价值实现，同时也无法符合星火计划对资金使用和项目方向的一致性要求。为维护计划的整体公信力和资源分配效率，决定立即终止对该项目的资助支持。
Given that applicant Emmanuel has always been unable to reach consensus with the committee, the committee believes that continued funding can no longer effectively ensure the realization of the original ecological value, and also cannot meet the Spark Program’s requirements for consistency in fund usage and project direction. To maintain the overall credibility of the program and the efficiency of resource allocation, it is decided to immediately terminate the funding support for this project.

星火计划的核心原则是透明与负责。我们对 AirFi 项目早期申请时的创意表示认可，但遗憾项目未能按原路径有效推进。此次终止决定委员会是基于充分的事实依据和严谨的评价流程做出的，旨在保护社区资源并维护计划的可持续性。我们鼓励所有开发者在项目执行中保持与委员会的紧密沟通；对方向调整及时提出正式申请并获得批准。
The core principles of the Spark Program are transparency and responsibility. We recognize the creativity in the early application of the AirFi project, but regret that the project failed to advance effectively along the original path. This termination decision was made by the committee based on sufficient factual basis and a rigorous evaluation process, aimed at protecting community resources and maintaining the sustainability of the program. We encourage all developers to maintain close communication with the committee during project execution; to promptly submit formal applications for direction adjustments and obtain approval.
