1. How to ensure that the 30 people who like a proposal are not a small group? (Initiate a proposal, and the small group collectively likes it, pushing the proposal into the voting stage.) 2. How to ensure that the voters are not a small group? (The price of CKB doesn’t fluctuate much. By using N accounts to buy and lock up CKB to gain voting rights, and then voting in favor of proposals from their own group members, they can obtain a share of the remaining unrelated CKB.) 3. How to ensure that the initiated proposal receives fair comments and participation from CKB members, rather than being ignored by small groups (small groups only interact with and like proposals from their own members)?
1 – We can’t really stop this other than if these users are proven to be just a single person with multiple accounts.
This was one of the improvements DAO 1.1 was going to make by doing away with that system and having a more thorough discussion phase, followed by the proposal team deciding whether they’d like to move forward to the voting stage.
But manipulating the discussion phase doesn’t really help the proposal team, because if they have to do that, then the chances their proposal will pass the voting stage is low anyway.
2 - That’s unless they also do what your saying here and buy lots of CKB purely to vote for their own proposal.
But this comes with the risk of having to lock up the CKB in the DAO for 30 days and to even come close to guaranteeing that they will win the vote, they would probably need many hundreds of millions of CKB, this is a massive risk to take.
Anyway, both of these risks are something the community needs to manage by being active and voting themselves, if we let this happen, then it’s our own fault for not paying attention and caring enough.
3 – This also comes down to the community paying attention and being involved.
There’s nothing we can do to force participation, but I think most good proposals with reasonable funding requests get passed, so it’s not too hard if you are offering something worthwhile and good value.
