[DIS] iCKB & dCKB Rescuer Funding Proposal (Non-Coding Expenses)

Update #5: Recap of March 2025

March has been an eventful month, so let’s break it down!

Resolution of February Liquidity Crunch

Around the end of February there was a rush of redemptions, likely due to CKB market conditions. This meant that the redemption eroded iCKB deposits pool until the deposits closest to maturity were two weeks away. Around half of iCKB deposits were redeemed in the process, so it was definitely a worthy stress-test for the protocol.

While liquidity crunches cannot be prevented (as in the end iCKB is not magic, it’s just a smart wrap of NervosDAO deposits), its future handling has been improved by changing the bot re-balancing algorithm, increasing the bot capital and moving the bot to a better infrastructure, for increased availability. Of course, in the long term the best solution is to have a bigger and more diverse iCKB Deposit Pool. The idea is that once iCKB gain more traction, liquidity crunches should become less of an issue thanks to a bigger deposit pool absorbing them.

UDT Limit Order Rework

Thanks to the Nervos Foundation grants, I completed the next iteration of CCC-based utilities to interact with UDT Limit Orders. These utilities will be used by both dCKB and iCKB. In the scope of this development I followed the Spore example as suggested by @Vimchain, the OOP style as suggested by @Hanssen and the SmartTransaction introduced in iCKB NervosDAO. Feel free to review the code and provide any feedback:

iCKB Integrations

I haven’t heard back from Stable++ and UTXO Stack teams since last update, hopefully this will change once the new CCC-based iCKB SDK is fully operational.

On the bright side, the CKB DevRel team and me are working closely togheter and helping each other out by providing feedback and improvement ideas. I mean, Someone even shared iCKB in the :guitar: Rock Web5 Nantang hackathon!! :star_struck:

Expenses and Remaining Funds

That’s more or less about it for March, I don’t really have any additional expenses to report. The remaining CommunityDAO funds amount to 1200 minutes (= 60 * 20 hours) of non-coding work to be done for iCKB and dCKB.

Love & Peace, Phroi %42
