CKBadger: a local-first CKB-native explorer, and a vibe-coding experiment

The second major release v0.7 is out. Changes include:

  • Testnet, side by side with mainnet. One orchestrator: an indexer and API per network, one shared frontend, a switch in the header.
  • Bulk sync keeps to a memory budget. The indexer now takes a budget derived from host RAM (divided across networks, or set it yourself), applies back-pressure on retained bytes rather than block counts, sizes every batch to hold that line, and bulk-syncs one network at a time. If it can’t proceed inside the budget it stops and tells you why.
  • A simple peer crawler of your own. Opt in and CKBadger walks the CKB L1 p2p network from your machine: reachable nodes, client and version and country distributions, trends over time, a filterable node table.
  • Plus a long run of cross-checks and fixes.
