**Block N+11 - Proposal- und Commit-Rewards**
In my original post, I was puzzled by the varying block rewards in the first ~12 blocks in the Nervos Explorer. Here’s the answer.

“Pending Rewards” in the Nervos Explorer means that the reward for this block is not yet definitively payable. The block reward is therefore displayed initially but is still in the maturation or confirmation phase.
In the case of Nervos CKB, this applies to several components of the block reward:
- Base Reward
- Secondary Reward
- Proposal Reward
- Commit Reward
- transaction fees, if applicable
The reason for this is CKB’s two-stage consensus process: Transactions are first proposed and later confirmed. Proposal and commit rewards are therefore calculated afterward and, according to the CKB documentation, allocated at block N+11.
For a miner, this means:
Pending: The block has been detected, but the reward has not yet fully matured.
Matured/Confirmed: The reward has been definitively credited and can be transferred to the reward address.
If a block is treated as an “uncle” or “orphan” or does not end up on the main chain, the expected reward may differ or be forfeited. Nervos refers to such blocks that do not belong to the main chain as “uncles.”
If the status remains unchanged for an extended period, check in particular whether the reward address is correct and whether the mining pool is waiting for the required confirmations. “Pending” does not usually mean that the CKBs are lost, but rather that they have not yet been finalized.
